My Opening Ramble....
Welcome to my blog. This untidy mess will (very broadly) be about 28mm Figures, Terrain for Wargaming, a ramble through the techniques I use, materials and paint and personal views about various topics in the world of tabletop gaming.
A little about myself. I`ve been a modeller for more years than I care to remember. Principally armour in 1/35th scale although i`ve done quite a number of aircraft in various scales. A few years ago, I discovered the joys (really?) of 28mm figures in a variety of historical periods. At the beginning it was Perry Miniatures then Victrix and now my interested is concentrated mainly on Early Medieval. En route, I have played a bit of Saga, Swordpoint, the occasional RPG and now beginning to focus on systems such as Never Mind the Billhooks and anything `Skirmish`.
I began wargaming many years ago. WWII, Ancients, Medieval and Naval Warfare. Those were the days of Wargames Research Group, figure manufacturers such as Hinchcliffe, MiniFigs or Dixon in 25mm, plastic figures such as those from Airfix or Fujimi in 20mm. We went from GHQ in 1/285th Armour, ALNAVCO with 1/1200 scale ships and everything else in-between.
Nowadays, like many others, I get much of my inspiration from books, movies or series`. I`m completely obsessed with historical `reality´ although the dystopian and `alternative` history still finds a resonance.
So enough of that. I`ll begin with some recent work which is still really a WIP...😀
